Cooking and eating with family and friends is truly one of the greatest gifts God gives to us. Cooking together allows for time to talk and reconnect with family and friends. It is a bonding time that today’s drive-through culture needs more than ever.
To be able to sit at the table and eat food together with those you love is wonderful. It allows time to slow down and build relationships. In our home (which is as busy as everyone else’s home) dinner is one of our family’s favorite times. As we eat together we play “The Game” as it has come to be called. We go clockwise around the table and ask, “What is one good thing that happened to you today? Afterwards we go counter-clockwise and ask, “What is one good thing you did for someone today?” This little game that my wife introduced to our dinner meal allows each of us to focus on the good things of life. It also helps offset the bad things that are so easy to remember.
We hope these recipes will help you get into the kitchen with those you care about.
